Accessibility at Stadium 2000
Everything on this page is here to help you plan your visit — accessible parking and entrances, what carers can do, pool depths and access, quiet times, and the equipment and staff support available on site.

Accessible parking and entrances
Front Entrance
The main entry into the building is flat, level access with automatic glass sliding doors. The doors have markings for people with low vision.

Rear Entrance
There's a ramp with a gentle gradient, plus some steps, at the back entrance. There are no accessible car parks in the rear car park, and the doors need to be opened manually.

Accessible carparks
Five (5) accessible car parks are right outside the main front entrance which is access on Kinross Street. Please display the appropriate parking permit in your car. You are able to park for free up to 150 minutes. Taxis can drive into the carpark and drop you off near the entrances.

If you're coming by bus, here are the closest stops:

Information for carers
Free access.
As a carer, you have free entry to whatever activity the person you support is attending.
Your role – You're there to help with communication and personal care, guide the person around the centre, and keep them safe if there's an emergency.
Your responsibility – While you're with the person you're supporting, you're responsible for their safety and wellbeing the whole time you're at the centre. Our staff and lifeguards are here to help, but they can't replace the one-on-one support and supervision only a carer can give.
Pool assistance – Depending on need, you'll either get in the pool with the person you're supporting or actively watch from the poolside — not just be nearby.
Discount cards accepted – We welcome the Community Services Card and SuperGold Card.
Safety and general
Emergency evacuation
In an emergency, please let staff know if you need help. You will be guided by staff to exit the building safely. Staff will be able to provide blankets if there is an evacuation. Please DO NOT use the lift in an emergency.
Evacuation chair
Located in the Gym Main Entrance - Left hand side, next to the fire extinguisher. Staff will help you safely get down the stairs.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome and can wait beside the pool. Speak to a lifeguard if you have any questions or you need help. There are no grass areas on site. The front park (Stadium 2000 pocket park) does not permit dogs.
CCTV
There are CCTV Camera operating at all times in and around the facility for safety reasons and to help us support customers.
First aid & Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
In an emergancy, there are 3 AED’s and First Aid Kits available on site. One behind reception, one next to the Spa Pool and one upstairs in the Gym/Fitness centre.

Ground floor
Customer Service Desk
There's a lowered section of the counter. If it's your first visit, let the team know — they're happy to show you around.
Café and Subway
The café is at the front of the ground floor. Subway takes orders from a raised platform that has ramp access.
Courts and group fitness rooms
Three international-sized courts with flat, step-free access and a range of seating options nearby. Events will have their own designed accessible seating options.

First floor and Gym
Fitness centre / Gym
Access the gym via the stairs or the elevator, which can be found in the foyer to the left of Subway. Please ask the front desk for the elevator to be unlocked if needed. It is locked to prevent misuse or damage. There are two sets of stairs available. The first set is on the ground floor and features handrails and tread grips. The second set is located in the front car park at the western end of the building, also equipped with handrails and tread grips.
Fitness Programmes
Members can access personalised fitness programmes created by our qualified instructors. These programmes are tailored to individual goals—whether strength, mobility, weight management, or overall fitness—and include regular check-ins to track progress.
Stadium 2000 offers adapted programmes for people with diverse needs or specific health considerations. These customised plans focus on safety, confidence, and functional movement to support users of all abilities.
Mezzanine level
Reached by elevator from the ground floor. Spectator seating includes some stairs, with flat-top viewing also available. The Group Fitness Studio and Spin Room are on this level, along with upstairs bathrooms (male/female, with accessible stalls, handrails, and sliding doors).

Quiet Hour - Tuesdays, 2pm-3pm
A low-sensory hour with dimmed lights, natural lighting where possible, and reduced music volume — for anyone who finds the gym easier to use in a calmer environment.
Adaptable Equipment
Our gym includes a range of adaptable and accessible equipment designed to meet varied abilities and fitness levels. This includes adjustable machines, functional training tools, and equipment suited for rehabilitation, mobility training, and general strength work.

Poolside information
Changing rooms and toilets
Male, female, and two (2) change blocks with family & accessible change spaces. There is a total of eight (8) family/gender-neutral change spaces (most with baby tables); two (2) have adjustable manual beds; and there is a total of four (4) accessible bathrooms with sliding doors, adjustable showers, sinks, toilets, and folding bench seats. There is no emergency/panic button in the change rooms.
Accessibility equipment
Wet Wheelchair - This can be found on the lefthand side of the pool, as you come through the 1st Family Change/Spectator Entry
Personal Equipment - You are welcome to leave your mobility equipment beside the pool, providing it doesn’t block any walkways or emergency exits. Our lifeguards can help you find a suitable place and bring your equipment back to you when you are ready to leave the pool.
Aquatic Hoists - Stadium 2000 has two (2) aquatic hoists to assist customers to enter and exit the pools safely. This is free of charge, but a booking is required. This can be made at reception, by phone or by sending an email to enquiries@stadium2000.co.nz
