Supervision
Our priority is the safety of every person in and around the pool.
This page explains how we supervise the pool, what roles our staff have, and what we expect from pool users and guardians.

Children under 10
must be actively supervised
by a caregiver aged 16 or over.
Actively Supervised means:
Watching the child at all times, remaining close enough to provide immediate assistance, and maintaining constant visual contact.
Ask yourself;
Can you see them?
Can you hear them?
Can you reach them?
Children Under 10 Years – Active Supervision
Children under 10 years must be actively supervised by a caregiver aged 16 years or older at all times while in the aquatic facility.
Children Under 5 Years – In the Water and Within Arm’s Reach
Children under 5 years must be in the same pool as their caregiver and within arm’s reach at all times.
Supervision Ratios
A caregiver may supervise:
-
One adult to two children under 5 years of age. Children under 5 must be in the same pool and within arms reach of their caregiver at all times.
-
One adult to four children aged 5–9 years. Caregivers must maintain active supervision, remain poolside, and be able to respond immediately.
-
One adult to one child under 5 years of age AND two children aged 5–9 years.

Wristband System (ages 5-9)
To support clear supervision enforcement and align with industry, Stadium 2000 uses a colour-coded wristband system.
Wristband Entry Policy
To ensure the safety of our youngest swimmers, wristbands are required for entry and are available at the front desk upon payment:
-
Orange: For children aged 5 to 7 years old.
-
Green: For children aged 8 to 9 years old.
Because children can encounter difficulties quickly, these bands help our team work with you to respond immediately.
Swim School Enrolments: Please collect your wristband from the stand near the pool entrance. If you miss it, our lifeguards also have them available.
Please return wristbands to the stand after your session so they can be reused.
