Partial Pool Closure Update – Stadium 2000
Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000 has temporarily closed our Programme Pool and Learn to Swim Pool following a routine water quality test that showed a bacteria result outside normal limits.
As a precaution, both pools have been closed while further testing is carried out, as they share the same filtration system. All other pools remain open, including the sports, toddlers, leisure and spa pools, and are operating as normal.
Retesting is currently underway, with results expected within approximately 72 hours, in line with standard laboratory processing times. These pools will remain closed until water quality is confirmed to meet all required safety standards.
There have been no reported customer illness concerns, and health authorities have been notified and are satisfied with the actions taken.
The result relates to pseudomonas, a bacteria commonly found in water environments, which in pool settings is most often associated with skin irritation and ear infections.
We are hopeful the two affected pools will be able to reopen on Sunday 26 April.
Thank you to our customers and staff for your patience and understanding. Water quality and customer safety remain our top priority.
We’ll continue to keep you updated.
